Chapter One: Her Hero

"Hurry Jake!" Finn called as the wind whipped his face. "We need to find them..." The rain slapped his face as he rode on the back of his magic dog.
"So Flame Princess and Princess Bubblegum were last seen together and left the Candy Kingdom together...so if we find one...we should find the other,"
"Oh glob Jake...the rains really coming down...for all we know her flame might already be out!" A panting Jake called back to Finn.
"You see that dude? Over there by the forest...it's...smoke!"
"Faster Jake!" He screamed as they bounded through the trees.






















"Princess!" The flame Princess's once bright blame had been dulled down to a faint glow.
"F-Finn?" She whispered, shaking in coldness.
"I'm here," He hugged her close but quickly pulled away. "Ow," Her fiery body had singed his skin. "I...wheres Princess Bubblegum? She knows how to cast flame shield....I can't help you unless I have flame shield," The princess then coughed and hoarsely whispered back to him.
"Then I guess...i'm going to die,"
"What why? Where's Bubblegum?" Jake asked suspiciously.
"Because," The weak princess humphed. "She's probably already dead,"























"WHAT?!" The boys stammered.
"What'd you due to her!?" Jake yelled.
"That..." she coughed again. "That stuck up hussy...she...tried to put my flame out...so I pushed her, I pushed her into the ocean....far out...she probably downed by now..."
"Jake?" Finn looked like he was about to break down. "We have to somehow  take Flame Princess with us, rescue Princess Bubblegum and get her cast flame shield...that way we can save F.P too,"
"How are we gonna bring her with us if she burns everything?" Finn gave a determined look.
"I'm going to carry her,"























Finn set his hand under her neck. "Ouch," He cringed in pain before reaching for her back. "You're...kinda heavy," He huffed, trying to lift her "Come on Jake," He said with a strained voice in pain.
"But dude!"
"I can do this..." He climbed back onto Jake's back. "I'm going to save them...save them both,"
"How?"
"I don't know! I just...I just am! Now go! To the beach...we need to get to Bubblegum....before it's too late for either of them..."

























With every raindrop that fell into the Princess's already wet hair her flame began to become dimmer and dimmer.
"Princess! Princess can you hear me?"
"F-f....inn," She whispered. "I'm on the brink of death...I need you to...please save me from the..." she coughed once more. "From the water," he lifted his burnt hand from her neck and pulled his hat from his head.
"Here Princess...take this," She laid his hat over her chest. It was killing him to see her on her potential death bed, so he threw his body over hers. "OH GLOB...OW!" He screamed in pain.
"Just a few more minutes buddy," Jake coaxed him. "I'll make a tent for her when we get to the beach..."























"Finn," The Princess murmured. "She...she's," Her voice was excessively strained. "Can swim...can't she?"

Finn walked across the beach with no light other than the dull light from F.P's weak fire. You need to find her. Just go...into the ocean...go Finn. He said to himself as he ran towards the water without a second thought. He dove straight in and searched, paddling across the rough water.
"Princess! Princess Bubblegum!" The waves crashed against him, knocking him under.

























His entire body was overcome with an overwhelming fear as he found his way to the surface once more. He continued to paddle outward until he could no longer see land. "Bubblegum! Please!" Something wrapped it's pruney hand across his leg and in fear Finn shook himself fear. When he looked down he said Princess Bubblegum, her mouth open with bubbles traveling to the top. "Princess!" He dove under the water, hoping that somehow he could grab her. She doesn't have long...a matter of minutes...you need to find her...if she dies it's all. your. fault. He couldn't shake the feelings of guilt from his brain.


























He bobbed up to the surface to catch his breath, when all of a sudden a streak of colors flew by and dove into the water. Confused he waited to find Lady Rainicorn holding the Princess as she swam to the top. "Dowajuseyo! geunyeoleul dowajuseyo!"
"Lady?" Before he had time to comprehend anything Lady pulled him out of the water as well. She laid them both on the beach.
"o gongju," Lady whispered. Kissing the Princess's forehead. Finn pushed on her chest...but she didn't start breathing.
"This is my fault...that is my fault...dangit Princess...don't die..." Tears slipped down his face as lightning struck the sky.























He held her lifeless body. "I'd do anything for you Princess...I would. Please...please you can't die on me....after everything...after everything we've been through...these years...I should have been here too," His tears flooded his eyes as they spilled onto her body.
"Finn...I think...she's gone," Everything went silent as Lady, Jake, F.P and Finn took in everything.
"Ack...ack," Came the sounds of coughing from Bubblegum. Finn pushed through Jake and began pressing her chest to release the water from her lungs.

























Under a large, shady tree Finn sat, tending to both Princess's, Princess Bubblegum still not conscious. He ran his fingers through her sticky bubblegum hair. Her big, bright eyes finally opened and the first words to come from her mouth were "Finn...you're...you're my hero,"
